Back to work

Well - we're back from a vacation and a half-Ironman race in California. Helen did well - she placed about in the middle of her age group which is better than she has done before and I am very happy with how I did. I finished 33 out of 277 in my age group - a top 15% finish. Not bad, but as a predictor for my Ironman finish this summer, not good enough. To qualify for Ironman World Championships in Hawaii, I need to finish in the top 10 of my age group at a full Ironman race, so I have work to do.

We took the kids on a cruise to Mexico for 7 days of rest and relaxation and that was fun.

My training is stepping up a level (to eleven, not ten) now because it's only 9 weeks until Ironman Coeur d'Alene, so I've been working on this project as times permits (not a whole lot of time these days...)

I'm working on a complete re-build now based on the basic lean-steer trike geometry that I've been experimenting with, but will feature the full sized front drive wheel, smaller rear wheels, a single rear pivot and dimensions that will allow a prototype of the first fairing to be tested. Here is how the computer drawings look so far. (I think the faired version is looking pretty awesome!).

Is this beast mean looking or what? I need a name - any ideas????
